CX Tönsberg

A nice day today with some great cxaction in Tönsberg. The first interesting group was the open class that included women senior. Emma Johansson beat guys on mtb downhill, impressive. She won her only cxrace for the season, second in women senior was Lisa Ström who did a great race and showed that cx with FMB is better on muddy grass than mtb. Podium:

2. Lisa Ström – Falu CK
3. Marte Emilie Skjolden – Smaalenene SK

Then start of the men elite. A lot of road racers, not like the weak boring swedish road racers, included names like Evald Boason Hagen and Lars Petter Nordhaug from Team Sky.

Matthias Wengelin took the lead first but later his drop-out broke and he lost a tube on the spare bike. But Magnus Darvell raced well against the two fast Skyguys. But had an unlucky puncture so he had to chase hard, but fought hard and ended second. Boason Hagen wasn’t so fast as many maybe thought, ended third. His teammate Nordhaug was fast and good technical with his zippwheels and ttsuite. Too much crowd to see his finish but was on the big screen:
