Riding and dreaming

Rode to Langeskogen after work today to see if I could find some more nice singletracks. Rode some of them I rode last time and one part some times in different ways. But hard to find so much more, some dead ends and a lot of just going up (was at 100m altitude and the mountain is over 400m). The steep downhill we rode last last time in the dark with wrong glasses was much better in in the light with good sight. Much to learn but the bike delivered flawless.

So steep down on some part and I should go left, braked so I was on the front wheel and thought I was going over but did it and got a bit to the left to so I missed a big hole. Riding technical trails is like a dream with the Liteville 301 and 27,5″. My 2,25″ Racing Ralph doesn’t have the best traction but with my bike it is more than enough. Impressed each ride 🙂

And than happiness begins. Emma Johansson made it to her first top 10 at the World Champion in Time Trial (Ellen van Dijk won). And Cannondale released a great video from Hafjell. Best team for the first time in 5 years, I’m proud:

Why Cannondale was the fastest team in Hafjell

Today I saw it. Their bike is so awesome. Haven’t been impressed by Cannondale hardtail since the first Flash. Their 29er hasn’t been in my taste but Flash 29 Carbon 1 for next year that is a Team Replica got into my taste. The composition is great with fresh painting like the new Merida’s too:

Hi-Mod frame, FSA K-Force 700mm bar and K-Force seatpost. Lefty with XLR like it should be. Sram XX1 with a great Hollowgram Si crankset. Enve wheels with DT350 hubs. Avid XX World Cup brakes. It got my thinking of 29er for next year 😉 Sram XX1 triggers with a little green on too, felt perfect. Change the saddle for a green Tune Komm-Vor, mount a Tune Wasserträger Uni bottle cage and a pair of Crank Brothers Eggbeater 11 and ready to win races with style:

Andorra day 3 WCstyle

A big day up on the mountain today started at 9 with women u23. Jenny Rissveds had some altitude problems but did her best with a hard start, falling down to 9th and then passing two in the end and end up 7th. Awesome girl

Then women elite with a German win with Sabine Spitz. With riders like Marianne Vos

image

Lisi Osl that I hoped should do a bit better today

image

Kathrin Leumann that always seems to ride good

image

image

Julie Bresset that started showing that it wasn’t a French day today

image

Eva Lechner that rode well and got a third place

image

Jolanda Jeff that got 7th

image

Maja Wloszczowska that started well but faded

image

And the favorite that didn’t have the best time before with a cold. Rode good first three laps and then she stepped up showing she knows how to race, ended 7th. Awesome

image

Ann Berglund came 38th. Her the elite swedes

image

And then we got the crowd, was better than I thought and cheering for Spain and France they were best on

image

There men elite was fun but a bit sad as something happened to Absalon in the start so he was last. The Czech Merida rider rode for a long time in the front before Schurter caught him on the last lap and won

Ending with saying that I will write about the cool technical things I’ve seen tomorrow and showing a tired Miguel Martinez

Ulvåsen and some more riding

A lot of cycling now but probably last time this week today. Because I’m going to Spain and then to Andorra for XCO/XCE World Cup 🙂 Will be fun watching but will miss Emil Lindgren.

Today I rode a climb, Ulvåsen which I almost managed, missed by a couple of meters in the end. Really steep and fighting with bad shape in the beginning doesn’t make it easier. But rode some fun really rooty and technical trails afterwards. And dry for once 🙂 Really fun.

The first picture shows how it looked sometimes. Great with low pressure and tubular tyres 🙂

And when this is published I’m on the way to the airport for looking and fast riders 😀 Say hello if you see me there

Italian Northwave and French XC Cup

First Marco Aurelio Fontana talking about Northwave and some other cool things:

And then the 3rd race in the French XC Cup, women elite. Great crowds, awesome track (love the contrasts of brown track and green forrest). Think if the national XC cups would be so big here in Scandinavia:

BMC Racing Cup Schaan

When you see a picture like this you have to read more:

First race in the Swiss Cup that is BMC Cup. U23 ladies podium here. Andrea Waldis won but second is the important, Jenny Rissveds who now is racing for Scott Racing. Came 6th and 7th in the elite category. Nice start for the big swedish talent.

Women elite:

1. Esther Süss

2. Adelheid Morath

3. Katrin Leumann

And the men elite which didn’t end so good for everyone. Marco Aurelio Fontana had to visit the hospital and get som stitches in his arm. Better was it for the big champ, Nino Schurter who took the win in front of Manuel Fumic and Martin Fanger:
