The flat ride

You know when you’re free, meeting up with nice friends at a new nice café and all ready to go for the perfect autumn cxride? Then Alexander got a puncture so we started with fixing that.

Riding to Djurgården and the dream began, awesome trails and the area feels like it’s made for autumn cross rides. Not for some Royal people to hunt on or riding horses 😉 Flowy gravel tracks without roots and rocks. Was awesome until we came to Gärdet and Damian jumped over a cyclepath and got a flat on his dugast tubular.

He left for home as the repairspray didn’t work and left was me and Alexander who didn’t know the route. We rode a bit at the north Djurgården, checking the CX course for next week and ended with skipping Haga and crossed the city to end the ride together at Le Mond.

I rode the gravel along Årstaviken on my way home and it felt pretty nice. Nice autumn day

Tuesday gravelriding, CX Peloton by night. Last year it was a lot of people and I thought we would be at least 15 riders today too. But not, just 5 guys at Cykelcity and 1 met up at Hammarbybacken. 3 fast, 3 ”slow”.

Started a bit easy and then Jonas went up and smashed the rest of us, I had to drop with Mario on my wheel. He passed me a bit later and I was last at Erstaviksvägen were the rest waited. Full speed again and I tried to hang on a wheel. Magnus took a picture:

Got dropped in the beginning of the gravelclimb but could pass Mario. Rode as hard as I could and got up to Björn. Got passed him at the golfcourse and it felt good not being last 🙂 The others waited back on erstaviksvägen and from there full speed towards the Adventure track. And noticed it was hard going downhill with a guy behind me with a much stronger light than my 550lumen Silva Pavé 😉 had to take it easy and Mario and Björn passed. On top of the bad climb we became a group of 4 with a guy I don’t know the name of, I passed and rode in front of our group down to the Adventure track 🙂 Fast bike sometimes.

Rode together for some hundred meters before it got split up after the steepest climb and Magnus and Jonas disappeared again. We chasers tried to ride as good as possible and it went pretty fast until the unknown guy missed a turn 😉

Full sprint to the finish and it was over. An hour, my 3rd best time that loop and even when I didn’t feel so fast I rode pretty fast 😉 And while we didn’t say so many words to each other while riding we (or at least me) had a great time 🙂

Autumn is here and people are sleeping… Not so many today, just 7 riders started in group 1 and 6 finished with one taking a shortcut. Nils and a guy from Valhall made the rest of us suffer this morning, wasn’t any record attempt but had to ride hard as we where so few, great training. And a while since I rode in the red zone for so long so many times 🙂

Trying sockdoping again to gain some more speed:

And while I’ve been working there seems to have been an awesome final stage at Lotto Belgium Tour. Annemiek van Vleuten is back after her crash and after winning the first prologue she won todays stage too, with over 1min 😀

She won the race overall too 😀 Awesome!!!

After work I went up to Hellasgården where the first race of the Stockholm CX Cup was held, GP Hasse Mård. Cheered and got motivated to ride too:

Henrik Jansson and Ingrid Kjellström won. The Kangas brothers did the best barrierjumps 🙂
