bigger and better?

Rebuilded my SuperX with a more normal don’t care about setup with double chainrings, cassette steel, bar tape all the way on the handlebar in a boring colour and so on. Fat cockpit:

Black bar tape model light, Deda Perforated on a Deda 35 handlebar, really fat as you can see. And the complete bike hanged up:

PG-1050 11-26 cassette

FSA Gossamer crank with 36/46

Crank Brothers Candy 2Ti

Sram Red rear derailleur and levers (tuned)

Sram Rival front derailleur

Avid Shorty Ultimate brakes with yellow Swiss Stop

Carbomania 50/85mm wheels with Challenge Grifo 32mm tires

Deda 35 stem and handlebar, with Deda Perforated tape

Shimano yellow brake and gear wires/housing

KMC X10SL chain

KCNC Ti-Pro Lite seatpost with a Tune Komm-Vor seat

Everything on a Cannondale SuperX size 52 (with nylon bolts for bottle cage)

For fun and extra weight saving I changed the seatclamp bolt for one in nylon, a good thing with a stuck seatpost 😉 Saved 19g as I wrote yesterday on changing the headset top for a PRO and a carbon plate for the front brake. The rear derailleur is dremeled, got MSC pulley wheels and a ultralight Fibrelyte rear cage plate, and without wiretension adjustment. Shifters are just sandpapered.

So will be riding this in the weekend, look forward to some cycling again (was skiing last weekend). And hopefully a bit better blogging soon again.

small tuning

Rebuilding my SuperX with more boring parts like a Sram PG-1050 11-26 cassette, double chainrings and black bar tape as it was time to change cassett, chain, wire and the bike looked pretty bad after the ride 1,5 weeks ago. And today at work I got a small part for my front brake. Instead of using the original FSA top with integrated wirestop I changed for a Pro top and this low profile carbon fibre part. 5mm lower and 19g lighter was the result:

All yellow wirehousing too, will be nice. Sad that the stem logo is red but not so much to do about that. Tight for the front brake wire under the stem so it will go over instead 😉 Finishing the bike tomorrow.

I’m alive, free day with pro riding

in a good way. Recommendations are riding for more then 5h. No matter if you’re riding with someone or alone you will feel your body afterwards. 🙂 Got free from work today to ride with some friends as we don’t have so much to do at work and strangely my motivation to ride my bike is good at the moment. Weather sucks, it’s wet and dark long time but still want to ride.

So got up early today, went and met the others at 9. And then we rode rode a nice lap around around Meland that I haven’t ridden before. Nice small roads and good pace and people I rode with today. 2 pro’s, 2 elite and me 🙂 Back to Bergen after almost 4h and then I followed the others so Filip rode to work, Espen home, then Dan Erik home and left was me and Stian that wanted to enjoy the weather when we had a day without rain so rode around Nordåsvatnet before he turned home and I hade around half an hour home. Really good tired feeling in the end but got energy to come home and happy with my free day 🙂

But after the ride today, good with SKS Raceblade XL fenders now:

And riding with class, white Sidishoes, nicely protected by shoecovers. Nice difference:

CXtraining and the Look of the day

Starting with the Look. We got a Look 555 with 9-speed Shimano 105 and a boring black ISIScrank. Where the customer wanted Ultegra Di2 and a silver crank instead, with integrated cables. Fixed today so first frame I drill and put some Di2 inside. Pretty easy and got a nice result, fun work 🙂

Looks pretty good or what do you think?

Then after working with some more boring work too I got out and rode my SuperX. Got a nice comment from a customer about my rear wheel too 😉 Thought of going to Storetveitmarken as usual but wasn’t so motivated so rode up to Svartedike instead. Awesome with single chainring sometimes as you get good training when not be able to use lighter gearing. Can recommend in and ride hilly.

Thought going to the end of the road, back and then same again. But did it just one time. On the way out I passed a mountainbiker and felt good. Took it pretty easy down the end of the road as it was a lot of stones that my tires isn’t so good for. Stopped at the bottom and took a photo and got caught by the mountainbiker again just before taking this:

He went back before me but didn’t seem so fast so I past him on the stony climb up. Got a snakebite a bit before too but my good tires didn’t puncture. Love tubulars. Then back on the gravel road and took right up to Skansemyren. Nice climbing that is perfect for good training with 39t single ring. And Fjellveien back to Sandviken is like a dream in the autumn. Awesome.
