An injury can end up with new feelings. Like this morning when I woke up by the alarm at 5.00 and was happy to go out and ride my bike in the darkness before everyone even thought of breakfast.

Got dropped pretty fast which I expected and tried to do a long lap as fast I could. Wasn’t fast but felt like I could push the small Watts all the way. Then the light came and while the others did 3 fast lap I did 2 slow:
Happy ending up at Valhallabageriet to celebrate the Cinnamon Roll day that we have in Sweden today 🙂
It ended up as the longest ride since 2nd August. Time to push limits and get my leg back to usual 😀
Started this Thursday with being dropped by these guys. On the first lap. 2nd and 3rd lap went better I turned fail to success 😀

After a great day at work and a yes from my boss I was out on a bike again. Changed from my Tarmac to the new Diverge, now with Roval CLX32 wheels and 42mm Specialized Sawtooth tires on:
Cafécycling out to Älgö in easy tempo was on the schedule. Went pretty fast to be easy but was fun and the bike felt good except this in a size too big is a bit too high and not as light as I want. Funny to ride with 42mm tires with 3bar when riding with friends on roadbikes with 25mm tires 😉
We all got ice cream in Saltsjöbaden (that’s the purpose of this ride)
A bit of a strange week this week. Maybe the first one 2017 without any Le Peloton. To tired on Wednesday and am trying to not ride too much now when Vätternrundan is getting close.
Did Morningspins yesterday with really bad legs yesterday, was dead last. Was thinking if I should do Le Peloton or Morningspins today. Thought Le Peloton would be a little hard for a long time while Morningspins is more about speed but short distance and time to rest in between. Great to get some speed for Sundays Lida Loop XCM 🙂
A lot of riders today as you can see
Some very fast, some like me and more or less a cool group of riders 🙂 The first loop got was really fast and I was dropped, but not as early as yesterday. Yesterdays KOM got smashed too so says a bit. The 2nd lap wasn’t as fast which was really good for me. Found some legs and was able to hang on and make a new PR 😀

But then HRT attacked and some people followed, went fast again and I missed the train a bit. No worries as I was happy with the mornings training. Got some speed, felt a little bit fast and built some confidence 🙂 Great to have a positive feeling when it’s racetime.

This is how it all begins. A bridge, a sunrise and then a lot of cool fast people. Did Morningspins on Djurgården this morning and I couldn’t picked a better morning. Blame on my wide tires and heavy legs from yesterday that I couldn’t keep up all the way around the 3 laps but it was great training 🙂 Looked a bit like this by Hagen, Klas and Jacob:

Compared to Le Peloton Morningspins is over faster and just after 8 I got to Hammarby Sjöstad and almost work. But Patrik asked me yesterday if I wanted to join for breakfast so called him, just on his way out so we met up and did go on an adventure ride for a proper Sequoia breakfast 😉 Rode gravel, singletrack, crossed some ice and rode (Patrik) endurolines downhil.
Then we climbed a mountain and had breakfast watching out over a lake like this:

You know when you’re free, meeting up with nice friends at a new nice café and all ready to go for the perfect autumn cxride? Then Alexander got a puncture so we started with fixing that.
Riding to Djurgården and the dream began, awesome trails and the area feels like it’s made for autumn cross rides. Not for some Royal people to hunt on or riding horses 😉 Flowy gravel tracks without roots and rocks. Was awesome until we came to Gärdet and Damian jumped over a cyclepath and got a flat on his dugast tubular.
He left for home as the repairspray didn’t work and left was me and Alexander who didn’t know the route. We rode a bit at the north Djurgården, checking the CX course for next week and ended with skipping Haga and crossed the city to end the ride together at Le Mond.
I rode the gravel along Årstaviken on my way home and it felt pretty nice. Nice autumn day
No day is as yesterday, or tomorrow. Like every ride is different, there are always good and bad things.
The good things today was friends, weather, coffee and the route.
The bad things was my legs…
Instead of riding Morningspins with 7 riders from Sumo Cycling starting with a slow lap that ended fast, a fast lap where I was dropped way too early but got to ride with Ingrid and a 3rd Instalap which ended after I chased back to the group managed to win the sprint. Instead of that I share some awesome pictures me and mostly Rille took today:
I really like to start the day with a bikeride. Going out with less traffic, fresher air and get my lungs inside out with great views. Rode in to the big city life and Djurgårdsbridge and met 11 others like this:
Shaking hands, introducing themselfs and talking about the latest stash. The difference with this ride is the Void/Rapha/Café du Cycliste style of riders. Riders who have cooler socks than on a fashion show. Sure, they look like cyclists but not racers.
But they are 😀
Nice and fast race around Djurgården. First lap I got dropped just after the middle after being a very short turn in the front. 2nd and 3rd lap went better but was never with the group until the ”finishline”.
Awesome training, like long hard natural intervals.
There is a Swedish saying to ”ride hard, fika harder”. Fika is Swedish for a coffee and cake (or some other small food). The word and thing every Swedish cyclist brag about and should work for to spread all over the world 😉
Then back to different jobs and places with some motorpacing with a Vespa:
Maybe I will be fast someday too riding with those people. Maybe I will be cool too. At least I aim to always enjoy cycling in a comfortable stylish way
