Great racing today with ”wrong” winners. The best/smartest won but not those I hoped for, except in Nalles maybe.
Ronde van Vlaanderen:
1. Ellen van Dijk – Boels-Dolmans
2. Lizzie Armitstead – Boels-Dolmans
3. Emma Johansson – Orica-AIS
1. Fabian Cancellara – Trek Factory
2. Greg van Avermaet – BMC
3. Sep Vanmercke – Belkin
Was hoping for Emma Johansson but Boels-Dolmans got a super team and van Dijk went solo the last part, strong women that is hard to beat. Of the men I’m always hoping for Zdenek Stybar but not even top 10 today. Should have been in the last breakaway instead of Stijn Vandenbergh but can’t always go as I want 😉 Alexander Kristoff managed to get 5th with a strong chase in the end without and with Niki Terpstra.
Then it was mtb race in Nalles, Italy. And BMC Cup in Switzerland where Jolanda Neff won.
1. Katrin Leumann – Ghost Factory Racing Team
2. Alexandra Engen – Ghost Factory RacingTeam
1. Manuel Fumic – Cannondale Factory Racing
2. Marco Aurelio Fontana – Cannondale Factory Racing
My two favorite mtbteams in top 2 is really nice, should keep it like that but change the womens results to Engen first and Leumann second ;).
In the book Behind The Stare Sven Nys tells about that he always want to start the season with a win. Alexandra Engen maybe read that , or just like to win. As the first sprint race for her this season was today. MTB-Cup in Münsingen with the most perfect bike, Xloc for fast lock-out and open, XX1 for no worries, AX-Lightness wheels for fast acceleration and a who doesn’t want a Ghost frame with earned world championstripes?
So print this picture, travel to next race and get it signed by the best MTB star from Sweden:
If you in some way just like bikes, then you have a picture here just on the winners bike:
Is there any pro that has a better speced bike? (Know that Cannondale got the Lefty but just one part that is better (or two with the frame) but not the complete package)
If you look at professional mtbteams they mostly look the same. Got a high end carbon frame, full XX or XTR group set with Shimano or Mavic wheels, FSA, Ritchey parts or from some other big normal manufacture. Maybe you can find some small tuning on some bikes but not so light. Except the Ghost Factory Racing Team (and Haibike) sponsored by Tune, AX-Lightness and Engage. They race with the parts people saying are too light to use, just for show.
Tune Princess hub with the beautiful AX-Lightness SRT CC rims.
But they also have a full Sram XX group set including XX World Cupbrakes.
AX-Lightness Nasdorowje bottle cage with some red alubolts.
Of course a Tune Komm-Vor seat, everyone know that Speedneedle is old 😉
Tune Geiles Teil 4.0 stem and Engage handlebar. Seems like Ritchey grips. Rock Shox SID XX World Cupfork, best fork for normal frames?
Complete bike. AX-Lightness Daedalus seatpost, Crank Brothers Eggbeater 11, and Schwalbe Racing Ralph tubulars. Light bike that they even can build lighter. The team got a nice box with lighter parts 🙂
