Cross Vegas

Early morning today, sat the alarm on 5.15 to reach the womens race but to tired to go up until the mens race 6.30. So all I know from the womens race was that it was good and for the first time in American CX 1 rider manages to beat both Katerina Nash and Katie Compton in a race, Meredith Miller won today with her new team:

The men’s race was together mostly with some different riders in the front. When two laps to go Sven Nys came and showed to race CX in Vegas 😉 Lars van der Haar second and Jeremy Powers third:

Sram CXX1

Sram got complains on their disc brakes for a long time, their new hydraulic road/cx levers have been recalled and they are testing electric gears. Trying a lot of things they aren’t the best on and trying to compete with Shimano and Campagnolo on electronic gears will be hard. Shimano got a good price and Campagnolo has their fans. What can Sram come with?

While trying and trying there is some things they are the best on. Tight rear deralleurs that always work with ease and cranksets. Light, stiff, right standards and now with chainrings everyone wants to copy with Wolf Tooth, Race Face, Absolute Black, X.K.M, FRM, Zeta Components and so on. They are ruling and Shimano doesn’t have a chance. So they are taking it a bit further and working on a XX1 groupset for CX. Jeremy Powers where testing it last weekend and seemed to work fine seeing the results:

Looks good too. More about it here: Bikerumor

Cyclocross 2011/2012

There was a time when you could see Campagnolo Bora wheels cross the finish line first, when there was a women from the Netherlands beating Marianne Vos, when Sanne van Paassen was black and orange, when Niels Albert took the rainbowstripes from the my favorite crosser. Those beautiful days last season is collected by Cyclephotos in a lovely book just for us fans who remember, who loves, who knows what it’s all about, who knows why 100€ handmade tires is better than 20€, who knows why 60000 fans coming out a winter day, paying for standing at a small course and watch people suffer more then they did the hole season.

Today I got that book in my mailbox, Cyclocross 2011/2012:

You could do like I did and Henrik Öijer suggested before me and buy it here: Cyclephotos
