A flat sprinters stage but the wind made difference. Or had some teams making the difference so Anna van der Breggen got even more seconds in the lead and Annemiek van Vleuten dropping a bit. Ended with the tightest sprint I’ve seen:
It’s getting bigger, it’s getting better, 2016 is the year it will all change and hopefully it will be magic. Women’s World Cup has ended and they get a World Tour with many more races, like the men’s World Tour. More is getting broadcasted too so let’s follow it and cheer for our favourites
Before 2016 it’s tomorrow. Friday the 11th of December and the only day it’s possible to watch Thereabouts Reprise documentary. 4 guys riding from Boulder to Moab in epic terrain. If you don’t understand, go check www.thereabouts.com.au for the 1st video. Here is a teaser and don’t miss it tomorrow:
World Championships is going on this week in Andorra with Eliminator and Team Relay already done. Here is a replay of the eliminator race:
And here are some highlights from the Team Relay yesterday:
And this week it’s also a big women’s stage race in the Netherlands. Sadly not sent live except the last stage on sunday. Here’s the press release about it:
Following races like La Course by Le Tour de France, the last stage of the Boels Rental Ladies Tour will be broadcasted live on television. Main sponsor of the race Boels Rental took the initiative and with the help of several partners, television station L1 is able to broadcast the race live on Sunday, September 6th. There will also be a live stream on the internet. Sander Kleikers and Marianne Vos will commentate the race. At the moment it is still possible that more television stations are going to broadcast the race.
The sixth stage of the Boels Rental Ladies Tour starts in Bunde and finishes on the Cauberg. It will be the queen stage of the race, with a trail through the hills of southern Limburg. Before that the peloton has already five race days behind them. On Tuesday, September 1 the stage race starts in Zeddam. Followed by two stages in Tiel, an individual time trial in Oosterhout and a stage in Gennep. Before the live coverage on Sunday, a summary of the stage in Gennep will be shown. The best women cyclists in the world compete in the Boels Rental Ladies Tour.
Don’t miss cheering on Sara Penton doing a great race so far.
This morning I went to Le Mond at 10 to watch the womens World Cup in Vårgårda together with a couple of others instead of going out riding. Great racing but not the best commentators in Swedish, how can you miss Boels-Dolmans and think Amanda Spratt is Emma Johansson? No Swedish win but Jolien d’Hoore from Wiggle-Honda won.
After the race we rode out to Ingarö and back to Le Mond:
A great ride in the sun that we ended with a fika and a lot of talking in the sun outside café Le Mond 😉
Some people get better weather than others, some ride faster than others. Not jealous, just want to ride fast in better weather 😉
Highlights from the womens race yesterday with some beautiful views of the ”Swedish” town Zingem:
The Belgians can cheer so much for a Swede. Than we can do better. We need a better fan culture in this country.
Emma Johansson ended 13th. Great ride by Annemiek van Vleuten, I like offensive riders 🙂
BMC filmed inside the peloton and breakaway of the men’s race:
And here is the last 30km of the men’s race. which I have to watch as we followed the last part of the race on the radio in a car towards the airport yesterday.
