single chainring

Found some pictures yesterday on an earlier racebike. The season 2010 I started with single chainring in front, some different setups for some different races:

 

The first try, 36t chainring by Experimental Prototype

 

 

This was after my best Grenserittet ever. Muddy race but so light and fast bike and worked awesome. 40t chainring. under 7kg.

 

Before the start of Mera Lera 12h race, muddy single track. 36t chainring again and hated the bike after 2 laps and just wanted to go home. Technical singletrack with a lot of roots. Changed wheels for my other (from first picture) with Tufo XC2 Plus tires and then it was just rock’n’roll with a smile. Awesome racing 🙂 A. Dugast Rhino XL 47mm had too little threads on the side, just in the middle.

 

This is for Vårgårda mtb. Sold my X.0 and Juicy Ultimate brakes so Juicy 5 and X.5 from the winterbike. The muddiest race ever ridden and so slippery. Was okey and worked well with 36t chainring.

Used 11-32 cassette all the time. For 2013 I’m all in on single chainring. Will be great.

Ready to ride

Glued a couple of old Tufotires on my road bike yesterday to use it this weekend. 20g of glue fixed it (one pre glued rim and pre glued tires). Adjusted the gears and brakes a little today and will test it tomorrow to work and then a ride after work. 😀 So excited on how it is. Lightest road bike I’ve tried as the Evo Ultimate I have tried at work had heavy normal flat pedals. My bike:

Really bad picture with my phone in bad light, hard to get good light when you work until 20.00. So weight:

Will hang it on a scale at work tomorrow and photo it for you to prove it.

And ending with the funniest part thinking of the weight and that it is a alu frame. I got a Sram Rival front deraileur, not so light 😉

Better gearing than the old Red, same as Force but better priced and fitting black colour.

Ibland kommer man på saker. Imorse när jag låg i sängen och tänkte innan jag gick upp kom jag på hur jag kunde spara lite vikt på racern utan att det skulle kosta pengar. Tänkte på annat med så var inte enbart de jag tänkte på.

Så såg det ut vid min bakväxel innan med vitt fint vajerhölje. Vajerhölje som vägde in på 9-10g enligt min våg. Dessutom är det en rätt skarp böj. Jag har ju en del Alligator Ultralight I-Linkhölje liggandes så tänkte att jag kanske kunde spara lite om jag bytte till de. Sagt och gjort:

Silvrigt och fint matchande blev det. 6g för ytter och innerhölje så 3g sparat. 🙂
