CX and Gravel

Today it was a trainingrace in Ursvik and SCS CK joined with 5 riders and me. Me, Patrik and John rode up while the others went by car. I joined the course preview but as my leg isn’t all good I didn’t want to race, stood on the side, took some pictures and cheered a bit instead. And talked to the ones who punctured (many of those).

And then we had fika 🙂 Lisa asked if anyone was up for an easy gravelspin afterwards and I joined. Wanted to go on a nice gravelride from the beginning and not so often I ride at Järvafältet and the weather was perfect for autumn 😀 love Swedish sunny autumn with all the colors and smiling people.

A picture from the end of our ride. Riding home from Ursvik I got to know how long time it was since I have ridden over 3h, even with the fika my energylevel dropped and had to eat a couple of bars at work before washing my bike. Closest I’ve been to bonk 😉

Ending with a nice teampicture, just missing Patrik who escaped home:

Stockholm an autumn sunday morning. There are people missing out but these trainingraces are awesome. Simple, hard and inspires people to get ready for the real races.

It was fast and fast today. Felt good the first lap but then I ended in a chase of Viktor, Magnus and a guy from Tullinge:

I tried to dope with a fast jersey from SCS Racing Team with teammates Damian (winner) and Erik (3rd) but it didn’t help so much. Think I did a pretty solid race but my cornering felt faster in the beginning and I blew up a bit when it was two laps to go (of 8) and got passed by one more.

All in all 38min racing over threshold  with a bike that feels better than I thought. Had great grip in all corners except one where my front wheel slipped a bit, my gearing was awesome and the position felt great. The Roval Control SL wheels with Mavic Reflex rims feels really fast too, will be interesting how my wheels will feel when I get my tires 🙂

As said I wasn’t fastest but wasn’t last either. Ended 18th of 31:

But forgot to count how many Specialized Crux it was in front of me, at least the top 5 😉

Ended with a fika and rode home with Hanna and Magnus. Said goodbye to them at Söder and went to Vinterviken for a cruise along Mälaren:

The new Crux!

13 months ago I got a Specialized Crux Elite X1. Was a great cxbike but I gave up and went gravelgrinding with a Specialized Diverge Comp Carbon 3 months later.

This year my plan was Adventures, ride new roads and explore with Transferrides, Emileadventures and Basemilecamps. Wanted to follow the new hype. Specialized made the Sequoia which seemed perfect, who doesn’t want a cool fast steelbike made for everything? but it won’t arrive before the end of November…

So until that I got a Crux again 😉 Got a alu frameset, alu handlebar and a used Sram Red crankset with a Garbaruk Melon chainring. Borrowed a couple of awesome custom Roval wheels and got a pair of cheap Chinawheels which are waiting for tires and a cassette. Took the Force1 parts from my Tarmac, got a saddle and mounted it all together.

It may not be the flashiest Cyclocross in Stockholm but it’s really good for the money. After all the thing you’re after is the geometry and framestyle for the your riding and Specialized knows their cyclocross 😀

Thanks to Specialized Concept Store Stockholm and specially Patrik who let me borrow his wheels and gave me a saddle 🙂

And the weight then: 8,16kg, don’t think it will be so much lighter with the new wheels but maybe some as I’m changing QR and rotors too. Now I’m ready for autumn

CX + XC = videos

Saw a couple of nice videos yesterday that I want to share. First a CXvideo from a trainingrace in Stockholm last sunday. A lot of people and seemed like a nice course too:

And then Cannondale Factory Racing shared this on Twitter. Another view from the XC World Cup in Val d’Isere:

Annons: Söker boende i Stockholm 9-11nov

Sorry writing in swedish but just searching a place to live when racing cx in Sweden.
