40min

You become good at the things you train on. I’m not good at riding fast for a short period of time, a.k.a. intervals. When everyone is away on vacation I changed my riding plans and joined CK Valhall for their training today. The plan was to ride around Ingarö which felt in the right direction and not so far home if I got dropped.

Last time I rode to Ingarö with Valhall was on a Sunday ride and I got dropped 3(!) times before we reached Ingarö. No success.

Today I started with hitting a rock and puncture before we even left Sickla… Fixed that and the group was going again, was in front for some strange reason a bit. At Lännersta it started to go fast and I tried just to hang on. Went alright when the speed was even but the thing with standing up and cover a small gap wasn’t my cup of tea. Could manage the speed much better than before but without any bigger efforts. After Gustavsberg up to Värmdö Köpcentrum it felt like the speed went up and it became some gaps.

Dropped one wheel, the last group got passed and I couldn’t make the effort to hang on. Dropped…

Gave up and turned around, took a couple of pictures in Gustavsberg and rode home

So not so fast but it went better than last time I rode with Valhall to Ingarö 😉

First Le Peloton in our new SCS club kit. Felt a bit slow on the way to the gathering but thought it just was the time and that I had to wake up.

Joined the first group but it felt a bit too hard already at Nacka Forum so changed my mind, took it easy to Saltsjö-Duvnäs and then joined the 3rd group. It wasn’t super fast but as there was no flow or everyone going around and taking turns it became hard. I got good training and nice riding together with Oscar that feels like a long time ago. In a messy group it’s always nice with one or a couple you can trust. Ended with a few others at Le Mond for breakfast, but very few today, a bit sad.

After racing with commuters, talking about 20 million SEK houses, team time trailing, ridden on a beautiful little road and doing some sportgrus. Then it was nice with some ice-cream in the sun 😀

Joined Emil on a great Tuesday ride with his friend Simon today and it had it all (except rain). Some new areas and roads for me which is what I wanted and some fast pacing in the middle.

Many cyclists say it’s the freedom that is the best thing with cycling. It sure is but exploring can’t be forgotten as you ride on roads you will never go with a car or by bus 🙂

Ended the ride with a good lunch in the sun with a friend:

I rode like this on Saturday morning.

And this Sunday morning 😉

Yesterday me and Emil started the day with enjoying the sunshine to Vissvass and back before everyone else woke up. A nice ride with just a couple of sprints.

DSC_0888

Today I rode with Stefan, Claes and Jens from Järna. Down to Nyköping (almost) in awesome tailwind and then back up to Gnesta in not so awesome headwind

DSC_0898 (1)

Happily we god some nice views so the headwind wasn’t so hard. The road to Sjundaskogen after Gnesta is really beautiful and so nice to ride it on my Tarmac compared to my Sequoia with 42mm studded tires in cold weather which I had last time

Think the ride me and Emil did yesterday got results today. Emil won the Mälarcup race in Västerås in Men30 almost as cool as Fernando Gaviria won the Giro stage 🙂

Le Peloton #154

With this group I did me first full loop of 2017 🙂 Not superfast today but I wasn’t dropped and was in front 5-6 times. If it depends on my speedsuit or not I don’t know but I’m satisfied

DSC_0877

Got in front just at the last climb so worst position for the sprint but that wasn’t in my plan anyway. In my plan was a nice breakfast in the sun:

A happy start of the day so to speak 🙂

Le Peloton #152

You know riding in almost rain in the middle of nowhere and it got to this magic misery you only see on Rapha videos?

DSC_0859

Today it started like this. The warm up got fast as we had tailwind and it felt like I had more control than last time trying to ride with the fast guys. Survived up to Fisksätra but when we turned right my left leg died and I got dropped big time. Christian got up to me and while not getting back to the main group we rode alone in a quiet tempo back to Duvnäs. Took the shortcut over Kranglans väg.

At Hästhagen we thought if we where ahead or behind the main group. Rode as good as we could and got company by one more guy. Took the shortcut in Älta too as I thought we where behind (wasn’t I saw on Strava’s Flyby). Our company left for home and we passed a new guy who couldn’t keep up. Caught Johanna in the end and rode together to Le Mond.

Got a bit up but will hopefully get some order on my leg after a massage I’ve booked for Tuesday, looking forward 🙂 Want to use the hashtag #lookprogofast sometime 😉 Just went the pro looking today with a scarf like Alessandro De Marchi had on Fleche Wallone 🙂

riding starts over 40

You know the feeling when your friends is going for a ride and you don’t have a bike that suits?

Then Stockholm is perfect because it’s always someone else riding something else. Today I missed a nice gravelride but found Emil and got a nice roadride instead 🙂

Going out to Strömma on Värmdö in easy tempo with Emil doing some intervals and even as it was wet and my bike ended like this,

dsc_1728

it was a nice ride with roads getting dryer and dryer and our bikes was quiet even with all sand on them. As said Emil did some intervals and I kept his wheel while he did them and it felt nice cruising in 35-40km/h without a too big effort. On a couple of downhills when the pace went up I got feeling and ”attacked” a little. My Roval CLX64 is really nice when it starts to go a bit faster and the bike begs for attacks 😉

Happy life on new roads for me. Exploring new places with friends on a bike is my favourite. Love to see new places and you see so much more riding a bike compared to driving a car.

On the way back I got to ride the new bridge to Kvarnholmen too, not sure if it was so nice but Stockholm with islands and all water is beautiful:

A great start of my wednesday while having free from work. Perfect weather for Café du Cycliste’s rain clothes too. Warm, dry and tight so felt fast 🙂
