Woke up 5.05 this morning hearing the raindrops fall fast outside and the wind touching the trees. Thought about turning around and sleep another 3h and skip Le Peloton, but then I thought again is that it will rain all day so if I skip Le Peloton I still will be wet going to work.
Stood up, changed to warmer clothes than I planned yesterday and left to Urban Deli. Just 4 on the picture but we ended up with 8 riders. As I don’t like riding in the rain nor am I good at it I changed my plans and went for riding on the road (cyclingpath) around Älta instead of through the muddy lakes a.k.a. gravel roads and just get annoyed.
I wasn’t riding fast, I wasn’t smiling but I did ride and I did get to Le Mond for a nice breakfast with the others who had punctures, dropped chains, dropped people and other happenings in the forest.
Not every ride is on top but every ride is a ride. And no matter how wet and dark it is. Riding through leaves is fun and like the yellow cycling paths full of leaves making the asphalt less urban 😀
It looked warm and dry this morning. After 2 hard days I had a plan of riding easy the shortest loop with Magnus. And I did with company by a couple of others too and it went great until Älta. Then the rain everyone thought not should come came. Not just some drops but a lot. Water all over both from the sky and from the wheel in front of me. On the last stretch from Skarpnäck I got enough, went into the front and didn’t stop going until the sign came and the others have dropped 😉 So cold my hands had trouble move and it felt like a mess when we came to Le Mond. Washed my face and tried to heat up my hands a bit in the sink.
Got saved by breakfast and a nice blanket. Everyone looked just wet and frozen. Happily I got to sit and get warm again and got company by a friend who is in Stockholm over the weekend. Nice to catch up sometimes, so many good friends all over 🙂
Of course the rain stopped pretty fast and it was almost sunny when I rode to work…
My bike got a wash and I had a warm shower 🙂 Really like the Sequoia even when it’s not as fast as a Diverge.
We have been riding back and forth to Älgö some morning in a good tempo. Today we did a longer ride and rode to Vissvass a bit south. More climbs, more speed and record with 4 riders. Great morning:
I wasn’t fastest but was fun and the new Swede Amir showed us how the young rides 😉
Ended with a better breakfast at Vivels and celebrated the end of an era:
As I don’t train proper, as I don’t have fast genes and as I ride with fast people I do whatever I can do to go faster. Today I changed from the springwheels to my tubulars. Roval CLX40 with Vittoria Corsa SC/CX tires and saved some weight:
Finished the gluing and the bike is 6,52kg 😀 Will change rear derailleur when the new one arrives and ordered som lighter discs and a lighter stem. Awesome bike that made my commute home really nice:
So now let’s hope I can go faster on tomorrows Le Peloton…
