Last year he was sick a long time but came back good and strong. This year the results are coming from the strong Truls Engen Korsæth. Read what’s said about him and follow him towards the top:
Today i was helping Reidar Borgersen and Truls Engen Korsæth in Duo Normand. Looked like this
And afterwards people wanted photos like this
A super ride by them and won with 49sec after the 54km pair time trial. Really funny
Meanwhile I heard from a nice commissary on a motorbike that Michel Kwiatkowski won the world championships! On a Specialized with a Evade helmet that I read a test with yesterday. Faster then Giro Air Attack and even faster then the time trial helmet Kask Bambino, that’s how he could win?
No Emma Johansson on top today. Pauline Ferrand Prevot won in a sprint!
2. Lisa Brennauer – Germany
3. Emma Johansson – Sweden.
Maybe that’s why they had a Swedish flag in Marigny today:
Borgersen and Korsæth out trying the course for Duo Normand today in great weather
Aiming for a great raceday tomorrow here with Team Joker.
Last year Ellen van Dijk won the ITT World Championships. She rode a Specialized Shiv with her national time trial suit from Bioracer. She was the favorite this year too and even when she shifted team from Specialized-Lululemon to Boels-Dolmans she brought Specialized with her. This year she started last and was never in front of Solovey or Brennauer and she got a lot of rain in the end, ended with over a minute back and just a top 10 place.
I’m not so interested in Time Trial so didn’t have so much information who was going to win today or do well. Impressed by Evelyn Stevens from USA who got 3rd:
And then Anna Solovey from Ukraine on a Giant Trinity which is a really great Time Trialbike, not the easiest to work on but is a good compromise with aero and easy to work on:
And then we know from the World Championships last year. Ellen van Dijk and Tony Martin both one with the same bike model and suit. And Lisa Brennauer is from Germany so knows that germans can ride fast 😉 Winner and new World Champ Lisa Brennauer:
So will Tony Martin loose tomorrow and someone else with same kit win? Or will he defend the jersey? And how good will Reidar Borgersen do it?
Back in Norway after a very long day and still not home. Team Joker together with the German National Team and Bauknecht-Author controlled the race today. Went so well Reidar Borgersen won the general classification! Daniel Hoelgaard from Etixx won the stage. Three out of four stagevictories to Norwegians 🙂
Also won some cool fishes:
Great team and really fun to win
Reidar Borgersen in leaders jersey today (and tomorrow) had a great Team Joker working for him today.
Not a stage win but was in front in the hard end and is still leading with 12sec. Last stage tomorrow and I really looking forward to it 🙂
While it seemed to be great World Championship for some and really bad for some in Hafjell today. Didn’t see it but will see the replay when I come home.
1 Catharine Pendrel – Canada
2 Irina Kalentieva – Russia
3 Lea Davison – USA
Really happy with the podium in Men Elite. I like Absalon and great to see Fontana nailing it. And Fumic 5th
1 Julien Absalom – France
2 Nino Schurter – Switzerland
3 Marco Aurelio Fontana – Italy
Stage 2 today and 12,7km time trial on regular bikes. We had Jo as the second last but Reidar Borgersen was the big hope for today’s stage. Riding like a champ
He won the stage and got the leaders jersey 🙂 celebrated with a good dinner, some Czech champagne and a lot of smiles. Will be awesome to follow the last two days for a big win 🙂
If you want to follow this South Bohemia Tour too the best way is #jokerprocycling on twitter and instagram
Back home this night after some hours of driving and a last stage since I had internet last time.
Been a long week together with good friends, fast riders, cool bikes, beautiful small French villages, wineyards and mountains that I want to ride myself.
Tight masters through the beautiful towns:
And great views from the car:
Almost met an old friend, missed meeting a new friend and met a weightweenie. Pictures of how it looks when a boring flat stage got really excited on sunday you can find here: Elisa Haumesser
Read about my favourite team from the race you can do here in Norwegian: Team Joker
Back home in my sofa after a week with racing and a lot of work in sunny France, or at least in the end. Working as a mechanic for a Continental road team is so much more than a normal work. It’s a work making others succeed and all the time thinking of that people should be happy with your work. Top notch Giant bikes should be in top condition everyday no matter if they are crashed, full of dirt or what ever happened in the race that day. Team Joker got a great sponsor this year with Giant Bikes with Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 which is a mechanics dream. American Classic wheels with Vittoria Corsa CX 25mm tubulars seems to work very well too.
Then the other important things with a good group working, living, racing and laughing together is really good too. Communication works pretty good, all of us can always be better and everyone seems to aim that way too. Want to be the best no matter if it’s winning races, helping others winning, fixing the bikes, holding it all together or at all different things that have to work on a stage race racing in different places in a country away from home. From the prologue, nice old castletowerpart and racing around:
Got matching Joker juice at the second hotel:
Super tires that even when getting a hole in so you could see the latex tube sticking out they don’t puncture:
Sunny France with Kristoffer Skjerping got second in a sprint on a stage he crashed at and raced with his sparebike (Giant Propel with mechanical Shimano Dura-ace)
Great Volvo V70 teamcars:
And ending the hole week with Reidar Borgersen in a breakaway and getting third overall, much better than this picture:
Really thankful and happy to be a part of this team. Everyone are good, but also open to learn more and get better 😀
Better like Sweden’s best cyclist, Emma Johansson that shows how good she are with winning the World Cup race in Trofeo Binda 😀
But don’t think I’m all snowed in at just road cycling, there was some great action in Italy yesterday too. Annual race in Montichiari with standard win for Marco Aurelio Fontana and the up and coming Jolanda Neff:
If Neff continues like this she will pass the world cup podium soon and even impress Nino Schurter 😀 but why the man on the womens podium almost touching Neff’s breast?
