UCIWWT Ronde van Vlaanderen

Last time I blogged about a World Tour race it ended the same way. Last year it was Boels-Dolmans who dominated the Women World Tour but not this year, seems like many more riders are up for the win and Team Sunweb is the team to beat:

  1. Coryn Rivera – Team Sunweb
  2. Gracie Elvin – Orica-Scott
  3. Chantal Blaak – Boels-Domans
  4. Annemiek Van Vleuten – Orica-Scott

Ronde van Vlaanderen

The biggest spring classic yesterday and what a race. Watch the final kilometers here:

Results:

  1. Lizzie Armitstead – Boels-Dolmans
  2. Emma Johansson – Wiggle-High5
  3. Chantal Blaak – Boels-Dolmans
  4. Megan Guarnier – Boels-Dolmans
  5. Elisa Longo Borghini – Wiggle-High5
  6. Ellen Van Dijk – Boels-Dolmans
  7. Annemiek Van Vleuten – Orica-AIS

The groupset came to Specialized Concept Store Stockholm today. Here is both levers, front and rear derailleur with batteries on a scale. It’s really nice, simple to set up and it got feedback like Campagnolo EPS, but without wires and thumbbuttons. Check my Instagram for a short video: Insta

And if you want to watch a more beautiful video Dires Devenyns is in one showing the bad Belgian roads in a way that at least makes me want to ride them all over agan 😉

Women’s World Tour and Thereabouts

It’s getting bigger, it’s getting better, 2016 is the year it will all change and hopefully it will be magic. Women’s World Cup has ended and they get a World Tour with many more races, like the men’s World Tour. More is getting broadcasted too so let’s follow it and cheer for our favourites

Before 2016 it’s tomorrow. Friday the 11th of December and the only day it’s possible to watch Thereabouts Reprise documentary. 4 guys riding from Boulder to Moab in epic terrain. If you don’t understand, go check www.thereabouts.com.au for the 1st video. Here is a teaser and don’t miss it tomorrow:

Yesterdays sunny Ronde van Vlaanderen

Some people get better weather than others, some ride faster than others. Not jealous, just want to ride fast in better weather 😉

Highlights from the womens race yesterday with some beautiful views of the ”Swedish” town Zingem:

The Belgians can cheer so much for a Swede. Than we can do better. We need a better fan culture in this country.

Emma Johansson ended 13th. Great ride by Annemiek van Vleuten, I like offensive riders 🙂

BMC filmed inside the peloton and breakaway of the men’s race:

And here is the last 30km of the men’s race. which I have to watch as we followed the last part of the race on the radio in a car towards the airport yesterday.

Happy that my second favorite won 🙂

THE Belgium trip

Came home late yesterday after the weekends nice trip to Belgium. First time there riding and it was as hard as I imagined, but also a bit easier. Here are some random pictures by me, Kalle, Mario and others from the first day when we rode the last 45km of Paris-Roubaix with 9 cobblesections including Carrefour l’Arbre which is said to the tuffest:

The cool guy with a Specialized S-Works Tarmac Disc and white Prevail helmet is the Lion of Flanders, Johan Museeuw. Really cool to ride with him, a nice classy guy 🙂

The man that make it all happen:

Around 40 riders, 3 motorbikes in front stopping traffic, 1 car and 1 van behind with wheels, things and food. Got into the Roubaix Piste which isn’t open usually and got to see the showers that usually aren’t open either. Johan Museeuw is great to have with you riding with good connections 🙂

Yesterday we where out and watched the Ronde van Vlaanderen pass Izegem where we stayed as we went to early to be able to travel to the climbs and watch it more:

Awesome weekend and a big thanks to David Schwieler and Mario Bulckaert who made it possible 😀

Ronde van Vlaanderen cyclo

127km today of which 100 was with and 4 degrees. Really cold and misery. But rode with the happy guys Magnus and Johan so became fun even when I was all shaking and freezing after 50km

image

The best today was managing Paterberg with a lot of people walking alla over the cobbles. Was a bit exhausted afterwards

image

And with muddy tires. No dry cobbles here

image

But we rode it all, had a great time and seen how the pro’s ending the race tomorrow

image

Celebrated with a good lunch at Le Rubin in the centre of Oudenaarde

😉 more about this great trip after I travelled home tomorrow

1 day left

Tomorrow I’m travelling to Belgium for a weekend of cycling and cycling 🙂

Riding climbs like this:

FLECHE WALLONNE

And flat parts like this:

And ending it all with looking at riders like this:

Can’t be other than a great success. Only sad part is that Emma Johansson isn’t riding Ronde van Vlaanderen on sunday 😦 Lizzie Armitstead and Zdenek Stybar for the win 😀
