CX Superprestige Spa Francorchamps

Think it’s my favourite racing course, Spa Francorchamps got all you need for racing with cars.

It also got an awesome cyclocross race where it seems like Sanne van Paassen found her speed again 🙂 Will share their replay as soon as I find it, until then we can watch the men’s race:

Which is your favourite course?

Koppenbergcross with Verschueren and van Aert

Wout van Aert came like a rocket last season winning a lot. This year it’s a new Belgian riding coming fast. The small Jolien Verschueren. Today she won the big Koppenbergcross:

And Wout van Aert won the men’s race in a great way:

Missing action

When you have some of the best women cyclocrossers in the world doing a race. How can you not write about it in the racefolder? That’s the style in Belgium and together we can help the change for a better world. Sanne van Paassen mentions it in her Raceday video from Zonhoven last sunday:

You should follow her for more raceday videos.

I’m also missing the replays from the races in Zonhoven. Anyone seen anything?

And the biggest question:

Do you have any suggestions what I should blog about? Feels like it’s a bit empty except ride reports at the moment.

Superprestige Gieten and EKZ CrossTour Dielsdorf

A lot of racing this weekend. Like the first Superprestige cyclocross in Gieten. Here by TV Drenthe:

With a happy Sanne Cant on the startline, maybe first picture of her smiling:

More pictures from the race by Balint Hamvas here: Cyclephotos Follow him for the best CX pictures all season long 🙂

And there was another big race in Switzerland in their EKZ CrossTour. 2nd race now in Dielsdorf:

Soudal GP Neerpelt Cyclocross

While it was road World Championships in Richmond there was full on racing cyclocross in Belgium, a race usually followed by many more when it doesn’t collide with a World Championship.

Here is some highlights from the men’s race:

  1. Wout van Aert
  2. Kevin Pauwels
  3. Laurens Sweeck

The women’s race is as usual not sent but Sanne van Paassen is Vloging so here you go:

  1. Sanne van Paassen
  2. Ellen van Loy
  3. Maud Kaptheijns

The sport is getting better, we can make it even better

Women road cyclists have a hard time, far from the men’s race not just compared salaries. The races are smaller and not as good organized, the teams are smaller with less people, the media coverage is far from what it should be. At least in Sweden where we got one of the best cyclists in the world! But women roadracers are loving the sport, even if it looks like this:

There is something that wishes all of us no matter of gender to race or watch races like this:

The man behind my favourite photo book that comes out after every cyclocross season and behind the website Cyclephotos which cover most of the big cyclocross races and this year also the women’s road season Balint Hamvas. He is in a great interview here I recommend you to read: Cyclingtips

He can show the beauty of the sport. And for next year it seems to be changes by UCI too. They are making it all a bit better. Not at the men’s level but it’s one step further. Steps are good help people and riders grow into it, and teams to develop. To have bigger races and more prize money it’s needed more professional teams with good riders that don’t have to think about others than cycling. For that it is needed sponsors, and sponsors can give more if they see they get more out of it.

Velonews about the UCInews.

Can you do something to help women road cycling step up?

CX season is almost here, are you ready?

I thought it was summer but now the cyclocross preparations starts for real here in Stockholm. The track in Sköndal is fixed, Stockholms CXcup starts be shared on Facebook. People starts talking cyclocross and wheels and tires again. Customers come in at work asking about cyclocross. 2016 models starts to come.

All while I’m thinking how not spend a fortune on a light cyclocross that I won’t use 😉

my frontpage is this: Crux Elite

My mind has a war between the stiffer thru axle versus the easier QR and in the middle is it thinking about what colours and which parts I should/have to change on:

I am thinking about it’s worth spending over 250€ on Sapim CX-Ray or if I should go with DT Revolution spokes, or maybe competition?

Not a single thought of cotton sidewalls because this season will be easy and fast. Specialized tires are good and cheaper than FMB. And is cotton really more attractive?

So many questions, so little time. CX is the dream for a guy interested in parts and tweaks. CX is also the sport which women and men compete on the same courses on the same days with drop bars going faster than possible and looking better than they usually do. The good looking sport with friendship, and maybe even more.

So what are you expectations for this season and dreams? Which bike is the coolest of 2015/2016?
