Le Peloton #119

After a lot of snow and then plus degrees the CX loop was a mess. Add a couple of minues degrees and it was time for the short road loop with studs this morning. With the usuals:

It’s a bit fun to see the people now compared to a summer morning. Don’t believe anyone of us thinks about not riding Le Peloton just because it’s dark, cold, icy and wet.

Michael started setting the tempo and I felt like I’m gonna drop at Nacka Forum. But I went up at short turn before Nils came showed us he’s the elite guy. Christian was on my wheel and the other ones rode in a 2nd group behind.

Michael and Nils split the work between them and before Sickla I thought I try to make it to Älta and then take the shortcut. Christian dropped on the Ältaroad as his front light died and he didn’t have so much grip on his rear tire (no studs).

In Älta we turned to Storkällan and I was still on their wheel. Out from Storkällan I took a turn when Michael tried to drop me and Nils. Almost dropped myself. Hung on to Skarpnäck where I took my last turn. Got dropped in the small climb and Michael took the ”sprint”.

Was a long time since I rode that hard with such high heart rate.and I still got plenty left to use. I’m happy to be able to keep up with the fast guys and it feels great to be back riding Le Peloton after my rest 🙂 And I will get strong as I had 122 more studs than Michael and 244 mor than Nils on my bike. It’s not fast but it’s good for training and security :p

We all, except Johan, had an excellent breakfast at Le Mond afterwards and the familiar atmosphere with so few riders is sometimes easier for me than when it’s 60+ riders in the summer.

MTB chill

After Saturdays ride I felt maybe I should stop with cycling for a couple of weeks and take some autumn rest. But meanwhile I’m in a Challenge on Strava with Warsaw Cycling that I wanted to finish. 4 weeks.

My heart rate is always low the last rides, my speed is always low and the power the same. Everything explained by a lot of riding for a long time. But stop riding when the autumn is beautiful, the trails are dry and gravelrides like a dream? It’s too hard so instead I dropped all about pressure, riding faster and trying to keep up with the ones still being in good shape. Keeping cycling fun with focus on smiles and enjoying the beautiful autumn that I love.

This morning was such a ride with Magnus. MTB in Sickla on awesome trails without pushing the limits but just having fun on a nice spin in the morning 🙂

I really can recommend riding mtb with a good friend and just having fun on great trails 😀 Let the pressure be in Doha 😉

Tuesday gravelriding, CX Peloton by night. Last year it was a lot of people and I thought we would be at least 15 riders today too. But not, just 5 guys at Cykelcity and 1 met up at Hammarbybacken. 3 fast, 3 ”slow”.

Started a bit easy and then Jonas went up and smashed the rest of us, I had to drop with Mario on my wheel. He passed me a bit later and I was last at Erstaviksvägen were the rest waited. Full speed again and I tried to hang on a wheel. Magnus took a picture:

Got dropped in the beginning of the gravelclimb but could pass Mario. Rode as hard as I could and got up to Björn. Got passed him at the golfcourse and it felt good not being last 🙂 The others waited back on erstaviksvägen and from there full speed towards the Adventure track. And noticed it was hard going downhill with a guy behind me with a much stronger light than my 550lumen Silva Pavé 😉 had to take it easy and Mario and Björn passed. On top of the bad climb we became a group of 4 with a guy I don’t know the name of, I passed and rode in front of our group down to the Adventure track 🙂 Fast bike sometimes.

Rode together for some hundred meters before it got split up after the steepest climb and Magnus and Jonas disappeared again. We chasers tried to ride as good as possible and it went pretty fast until the unknown guy missed a turn 😉

Full sprint to the finish and it was over. An hour, my 3rd best time that loop and even when I didn’t feel so fast I rode pretty fast 😉 And while we didn’t say so many words to each other while riding we (or at least me) had a great time 🙂

Le Peloton #48 and Lanterne Rouge deluxe

This morning it happened again. I put on my S-Works roadshoes, pumped my tires and went out in the early morning to make my muscles suffer more than they thought. With the home feeling on my bike, it feels just so good, we have grewn together and it feels sad that the season soon is over.

Met up with friends and others at Urban Deli:

Today in my latest Café du Cycliste jersey, a blue Lucienne 🙂

We rode fast out to Fisksätra where we also roll easy around the neighbourhood and it is a good time to drink a bit and to take some pictures:

With Magnus, the fast guy:

After trying to catch Lisa Nordén and Nils Penton and after being dropped and chased back again and past some guys in Enskededalen where I was so tired I had a little problem breathing on my bike, just wanted to sit down in the grass at that moment.

But this was ahead at Le Mond so was motivated, a great breakfast:

Then I got a pair of rims you will be able to read more about tomorrow from Magnus before going to work. Worked and then it was time for this years most important cafecycling. Last ride with Isa before she moves to beautiful Alsace

Sometimes hard to so stopped for a drink and waited for the last ones:

And Emil, the hero of cafériding:

bonus by Daniel:

Ended at Urban Deli where I started. But ate there for the first time. Didn’t feel for something big so ate something good, shrimps and glass of good wine:

Could have a worse time. Great evening with great people. Sad that Isa is leaving us, but she is always welcome back 🙂
