the beauty of riding bikes on roads you’ve never been before

Rapha introduced it for me on the internet, Henrik and Patrik introduced me for it in real life. The beauty of riding on new roads in the middle of nowhere. Asphalt and gravel, friends and enjoying the ride no matter if it’s raining or been sunny.

last year(?) GT came with their Grade:

as the first gravel bike from a big brand. Before everyone talked about cyclocross for riding on gravel but last year the change came big time. Cyclocross became a sport like it should be and Gravel bikes came for everyone wanted to discover new roads no matter of condition, or just people who wants to commute and ride in the winter.

Then Specialized started a campaign named Seek and Diverge. Diverge, the bike that came and sold as fast as people could get their hands on one:

The Diverge is a really do-it-all bike and if you’re not racing I think you could use it all year around for everything that isn’t mtb.

Both the Grade and Diverge is pretty regular bikes, nothing really special but just simple good. Then Cannondale came, laughing at the others like Hooligan is compared to a GT Sub or a Specialized Sirrus. The Slate:

No fendermounts or such things but a damping Lefty fork and 650b+(?) tires making it tighter and to get a snappier feel doing gravel switchbacks.

All three bikes for the purpose of finding new paths, going further and pushing the boundries or what you can do on a ”road”bike.

Next year I want to explore more. How about you, will you join? Any places I shouldn’t miss?

2016 Cannondale SuperSIX Evo, Habit, SI and so on

Have been waiting for this since the new Specialized Tarmac came. The new Cannondale Synapse is a huge advantage compared to the old one. After Cannondale made the Evo smaller than the old SuperSIX it was talking about a stiffer frame, BB30A and all of that. The new is said to be lighter, stiffer, more aero. Lighter and stiffer is usually means weaker for crashes, like Merida for example that is both. Wonder about the new Evo when it looks like the old one:

Really interested in a good press release instead of it coming the wrong way too us. A big press release or spy photos is the thing, not good pictures without info!

But I like the grey 🙂 and some other models:

And where is the disc? I would prefer this lovely Synapse if they don’t come up with anything cooler:

Ok, I should stop being negative. Cannondale got a new cool bike in a segment they had a bit of a problem selling bikes in it seems with the Trigger. Now they introduce another AM bike with 120mm of travel called Habit:

And I think it looks good. Clean bike with great spec. Who doesn’t want the new OPI Monoring for example?

the Habit comes in some models of course:

Production models of the cool model Slate:

Cannondale is also coming with a new crankset, a cheaper non hollow version of their Hollowgram:

And they are really releasing many new things. A fatbike which I haven’t shared, but of course available with Lefty. And a couple of new wheelsets for road (they got Czero for mtb coming 2016 too):

Is there any other big brand releasing so many news in one time without huge press releases? and there is said to be a Scalpel Si built like the F-Si in the beginning of 2016
