Memories from old and not so old times gets back to you when it’s time to race some awesome races again. The 13th May is it time for the XCM Långa Billingeracet again, didn’t race it last year as I failed but this picture is from 2015. A sunny day where I did a good race and met a lot of old friends and nice people, a day I still remember. Have been riding 30000km since that day, hopefully I will be a bit faster 🙂 And my Epic is a couple of kilos lighter than the Camber was, but with less comfort.
The day after it’s the Nordic XC Championships for Masters and an UCI race for the fast guys in Vårgårda. I did the race latest in 2010. Started in front of the 2016 U23 World Champion Jenny Rissveds:
But she passed me pretty fast in the mud, like most of the others 😉 Thomas Rissveds got another good picture of me then too:
New Saturday and Crippa found a new guide and a new place to explore. I got invited and it was just as I hoped.
As usually we gathered at a gas station early and the guide said a few things, serious. These trainings are serious but not too serious. Is about seeing new roads, make miles and have fun. Great people 🙂
Then after a flat was fixed we rode and met more people, over 20 riders:
We rode all over Lidingö on roads I’ve done before but not enough to manage such a good route. Got new PR in both Grönstabacken and Aborrbacken which was on Lidingöloppet MTB too. Nice to push the Sequoia a bit and keep up with the mtbikers 😉
After Lidingö we rode along the coast of the North Djurgården and down Haga, really nice roads which I never done before. Ended with a nice coffee at Kaffeverket:
Wasn’t so dry today as we hoped for but fun. And my Sawtooth tires are really good on everything except leaves 🙂
Got a pause on my lonely way home at the bridge towards Liljeholmen:
Wool and silk is the thing 🙂 A scarf in silk feels like a must, perfect when a buff is too warm and it’s too cold without anything. And my new Café du Cycliste gloves:
Sometimes I like riding with a computer to see how fast I ride, how long and so on. But sometimes it’s just stress too, want to make a little higher average speed, lower heart rate or what ever. Used a Timex GPS computer for a while now and it works okey and shows the things I want and can watch where I been riding on a map afterwards.
But like comparing a Nokia and hTC, both works but connection to the world a hTC or iPhone is so much better as Android and iOS are huge. on GPS Computers it’s a bit like that too. Timex works but Garmin is huge and is much easier working with and sharing, like with Strava or anything else instead of locked to the producers website like Timex.
And on top of this, Garmin coming with new models that made me want a Edge 510 more then a 500 😉 Watch the new ones here:
