BPost Bank Trophy Ronse

”Every girl is beautiful, every girl deserves a chance” – Sanne van Paassen

I’m not for that women (or men) should get a job to make the workplace equal between men and women. I’m for the best one for the job. Everyone should be worth the same no matter of gender or skin colour. Cyclocross is a sport where women and men aren’t worth the same, sadly but true.

But it can be changed. So let’s give everyone a the same chances. The girl on the picture for example, she isn’t so old in the sport but she is a girl you should know of if you’re interested in cyclocross.

Here is both men’s and women’s race from Ronse yesterday:

Meeusen is the king of Nommay!

One of the best CXraces I’ve seen today. Last World Cup in Nommay and the action was just magic. Philip Walsleben, Francis Mourey and Tom Meeusen.  Meeusen seemed to have been ridden to hard and faded in the middle but came back to the french-german war ;). Last lap was attacking and riding tighter than shoulders against shoulders made it so interesting. Thought Walsleben should win as he seemed fastest but Mourey had best crowd at his home race and attacked in the end.

But Meeusen showed how to sprint and won the sprint against Mourey. If you didn’t saw this you got to see the replay later on Youtube.com/ucichannel

And podium. 1 Tom Meeusen, 2 Francis Mourey and 3 Philip Walsleben:

Lars van der Haar ended 4th and won the complete World Cup 2013/2014, well done by the young gun.

In the womens race Marianne Vos showed that she knows how she works and take advantage of it. She won while Katie Compton had to step off when she got a astma attack. 2nd Helen Wyman and 3rd to Eva Lechner.

All up to a very interesting World Championship next weekend in Hoogerheide.

R.I.P. Amy Dombroski

Last winter was a catastrophe with many hit cyclists and Burry Stander got killed. Now it happened again. A truckdriver killed Amy Dombroski on a training season in Belgium. She rode behind a scooter which managed to turn but not Amy 😦 Really sad with cyclists getting killed.

So for Amy, this beautiful video from Gloecester:

Start the new year in a good way

15.00 CET today it’s Cyclocross! Sven Nys own race in Baal, but without Sven Nys this year as he is sick 😦 Will Zdenek Stybar take his first win of the season at his second last race? Will we the see the stairs that is there just for this race and will Niels Albert crack? Hard to say now but all we know is that it will be a race and I hope it will be exciting. And racers in new teams, clothes as it’s the first race of the year. Watch it here:

Cyclephotos is at the race and took this picture from U23 race?

Cannondale Slice RS, and Stybar back in todays race in Essen!

Yesterday the bike was a dream, today it was hate and you saw blood and could have see tears but didn’t, instead ginger bread.

First time building bikes with internal everything and a lot of new things is never so easy. Specially as I did wrong, shouldn’t start mounting the crank and you should take out the liners after mounting the wires. And Cannondale should put in a liner in the chainstay for the builder.

But what a bike. Not that good brakes but like it anyway and everyone know that you shouldn’t brake to ride fast. And speaking of fast, compared the seatpost to a htc One X to show you how ”thick” it is:

And the result:

A 9,04kg Cannondale Slice RS Ultegra size 52. Clean front with integrated brake:

And from rear, nicely says AERO on the inside of the chainstays:

To the end, hope you didn’t miss the CX today in Essen. Zdenek Stybar is back and rode really well until the sprint. Sprinted and pushed Jan Denuwelaere into the side so he crashed. Was fast to go back and forgive himself and seemed to be happy that he didn’t broke anything. Stybar was first over the finishline but ended 4th.
