Le Peloton #142

or the 3000km pass. Passed 3000km ridden this year on the way to Le Peloton this morning 🙂 And my Sequoia passed 5000km on the way home from work. Never ridden a winterbike so far before so maybe it will give some results.

And seeing this picture missing me, Emil and Stefan is showing spring is here 😀 15 riders, mostly without studs and not everything in the wardrobe to keep warm. Today was fast, my fastest time this year and even when me, Fredrik and Michael got dropped in Storkällan it went fast. The fastest Emil and Nils was on studded tires which helped the rest of us a bit but they were really strong and fast as usual, maybe I had too wider tires? But today I didn’t just tried to hold wheels, I was in the front some times and even attacked on the climb up to Hellas just because I could. Not my smartest move but after I did the test on Aktivitus last Sunday I thought I need to push harder and push the limits higher. The knowing of that there is more to give when you feel tired is really good.

But in Storkällan I couldn’t keep up with Emil and Nils when they sailed away. Me and Fredrik became a chasing duo and on Flatenvägen the headwind hit us hard, never ridden there with so much headwind before. But we kept on as fast as we could and even passed 3 others who had taken the Älta shortcut.

Too tired to sprint so Fredrik got todays 3rd place and I was just happy to finish 😉

We filled Le Mond with bikes:

And ate all their food, was super:

Then I tried to keep up with my Adventure friend Johan to work, heavy legs but satisfied.

Sumo Safari or Le Peloton #113

The thing with Sumo’s is that they like to go faster and not thinking about easy rides. We planned for a <60min CX Peloton today (only made one of those) and my legs with 2 hard trainings yesterday didn’t feel so happy about this morning.

dsc_1499

8(!) from Sumo Cycling today and 2 others doing the CX loop. We may not created Le Peloton but we are taking it over 😉 Eva sat off in a good pace and in the first climb where I usually get dropped by Per or Jonas I went into the front. Then the top was reached and we where some guys helping out keeping the pace really high. On Erstaviksvägen we where 5 guys and the pace was really good, felt superhard but I could keep up fine and then it came. An elk! Ran out on the road, in front of us and then into the forest again, was just too slow with my camera so just got it’s ass and the rest of the elk is behind the tree 😉

dsc_1500

Instamoments you know. We saw many deers a bit later on the loop. Never seen so many animals riding before so was fun and something to talk about. On the way back in a long climb I went to the side and Fredrik rode up, he had a gap so I jumped on his wheel. While sitting there I thought of why I didn’t drop, it was hurting so much but I just kept on. In the end I went up in the front again and got free space down the a descent called ”Feel like Peter Sagan” before Emil came up and kept the pace high, with me on his wheel again. There you can talk about sitting too far in front, but while it was hard it felt good and not so far left.

Emil took a shortcut in the end on his mtb where I rode around and he gained a gap, Fredrik joined and passed me but he couldn’t brake enough in the 90° corner just after so I passed. Then easy down and full speed to the end. Got a PR with 31sec!

Maybe it was thanks to my socks?

Dry and dusty and really fast today. Awesome start of the CX Peloton season and happy with being able to go so fast on my Crux. Alu frame and low profile alu wheels doesn’t sound as fast as it was :p

Looking forward to real autumn and many more doing the CX loop. Remembering the good rides last year with me, Michael, Christian and Niklas chasing Jonas and Per and pushing each other 🙂 Laughing with 180 in heart rate is just super…

Le Peloton #109 and Morningspins

Forgot to blog yesterday about the peloton. Or the time ran out and I thought of it while laying in bed 😉

DSC_1163

A lot of people keep showing up week after week. Will they continue over the winter too or when will people put their bikes on trainers and stop coming out?

The ride was hard, I was weak but tried to keep up and take some turns at least.

Then we had breakfast and Rille took this beautiful shot. Love this group of people sitting outside a café in a big city and can enjoy anyway. Big city life in a way with riding people who doesn’t live in a big city can understand:

And to continue about Le Peloton. Watched in the catalog from Douchebag at work and found Marika riding in the Peloton kit 😀

If Le Peloton is a team time trial it was time for intervals this morning with Morningspins. Flat out for 10,8km x3 with sharp corners and strong guys. It’s another mentality and I really like both. To go flat out, maybe get dropped and then people wait for you before the next lap. Such short laps makes it easier for the mind to go over the limit and push to the max.

And ending with a Swedish fika, a.k.a. coffee and cinnamon roll:

Le Peloton #101

We all need some connections and be together. Today it was my 101st Le Peloton and it was Elviras 1st 🙂

DSC_0941

Vacationtimes but still over 60 riders today. Awesome to see so many up so early to go so fast. And today it was fast. Many strong riders and I had pretty good legs but only a 46T chainring in front. It worked much better than I thought and was good training for my cadence 🙂

Ended up with setting a PR on  the official loop with over a minute averaging 42,9km/h including to stops on the 34,6km loop 😀

Then we rode through south Stockholm (pic by Johan):

And had a super breakfast in the sun, so worth the riding:

I’ve got in love with my Specialized S-Works Evade GC Skinsuit for these rides and as it’s all black it feels like I need to make it a bit funnier with funny socks. But in my favourite book (Sort kaffe & hvide sokker) the socks should be white. White thin and awesome Café du Cycliste socks to match my supernice Sub6 shoes today:

In perfect length 🙂 That’s important.

Le Peloton #51

Last day meeting up at Urban Deli at 6 a.m (on a roadbike 2015):

DSC_1062 DSC_1061

A nice group today, half group 1 and half into group 3 of the road cyclists and then some cyclocrossers. Rode with the 1st group first but didn’t feel good and the group was hard to ride with today so just after Saltsjö-Duvnäs I turned around. Rode up the climb and waited for the 3rd group.

Took it easy in the 3rd group and it was just a nice ride. Was an attack in the end by 3 guys which Sara Penton caught with me on her wheel. Talked a little and me and Sara decided to attack in the last climb and so we did 😉 Then we rolled to Le Mond for breakfast and talking:

The happy Pentons: Nils was the fastest in the 1st group as usual 🙂

Now I fixed my roadbike for a great winter rest and to become a training bike at my dad. My most used bike in my life I believe 😉 So great Specialized Allez and hopefully next years bike will be used more and be even better 😀

Le Peloton #48 and Lanterne Rouge deluxe

This morning it happened again. I put on my S-Works roadshoes, pumped my tires and went out in the early morning to make my muscles suffer more than they thought. With the home feeling on my bike, it feels just so good, we have grewn together and it feels sad that the season soon is over.

Met up with friends and others at Urban Deli:

Today in my latest Café du Cycliste jersey, a blue Lucienne 🙂

We rode fast out to Fisksätra where we also roll easy around the neighbourhood and it is a good time to drink a bit and to take some pictures:

With Magnus, the fast guy:

After trying to catch Lisa Nordén and Nils Penton and after being dropped and chased back again and past some guys in Enskededalen where I was so tired I had a little problem breathing on my bike, just wanted to sit down in the grass at that moment.

But this was ahead at Le Mond so was motivated, a great breakfast:

Map and stats: Strava

Then I got a pair of rims you will be able to read more about tomorrow from Magnus before going to work. Worked and then it was time for this years most important cafecycling. Last ride with Isa before she moves to beautiful Alsace

Sometimes hard to so stopped for a drink and waited for the last ones:

And Emil, the hero of cafériding:

bonus by Daniel:

Ended at Urban Deli where I started. But ate there for the first time. Didn’t feel for something big so ate something good, shrimps and glass of good wine:

Could have a worse time. Great evening with great people. Sad that Isa is leaving us, but she is always welcome back 🙂

Le Peloton #21

Today was a strange day. Felt pretty okey riding to Urban Deli and meeting the others, around 60(!) riders today, at 6.00:

3 groups as last week and I tried to hang on the 1st one for as long as possible. Had a hard time keeping wheels today after getting a bit afraid after sitting on a wheel of a rider that didn’t ride so well in the beginning. Along the railroad to Saltsjö-Duvnäs called Järnvägspizza on Strava I had a record of 49,1km/h before, today it was 53,7.

Got dropped after a kilometer or two after we turned to Fisksätra and it felt pretty bad. Felt that I didn’t pushed my max but couldn’t push more. Rode in the middle of nowhere up to Fisksätra before catching some guys and the 2nd group came collecting us.

Didn’t feel like it was going so fast in the 2nd group today and many times people didn’t go around and it was just one line.

Ended with my max to the Enskededal sign. Wasn’t satisfied but felt I couldn’t do more. Riding like this back to café Le Mond:

Then the cool thing. at Le Mond we had to put the bikes outside as it was full inside and the que started on the street:

It’s pretty awesome. the breakfast got empty but people where happy and the workers at Le Mond did as good as they could. A social nice end of what should be a fast ride.

Checking Strava and it ended with a lot of PR and speeds that seemed high. It went pretty fast today. Average of over 36km/h even with the roadwork outside Skarpnäck and going a different way. Satisfied seeing it goes faster and faster 😀 Love it
