Cafécycling to Vaxholm

The longest day of 2017 was yesterday. Sun was up between 3 and 22 😉

We were a nice group riding around Vaxholm after work in the sunset. Nice to get the legs spin a bit, sometimes not so fast and sometimes fast. Got some PR and a couple of top 10 times 🙂

Stopped for Pizza in Vaxholm looking at the local roundabout. But in Sweden it’s not super warm so got a bit cold on the ferries so we sat inside:

Rille and Oliwer pushed the tempo a bit so sometimes it went really fast, really fun. Oliwer got a flat just before Gustavsberg so me and Rille stopped with him while the others just passed by… Team time trial back and we got ourself a nice training effort 😉

A fun evening 🙂

New bike day to Vaxholm

My sore body wasn’t liking the idea of riding gravel today so instead I joined some friends for an easy caféride around Vaxholm. Went up a bit earlier to finish my cafébike:

My Colnago C40 is finished! 7,16kg Italian beauty that rode like a dream. The C40 was the first carbon fibre bike in the pro peloton and was around from 1994 to the latest version (mine) in 2004. So how good is a 13 year old roadbike? It’s really good, really happy with how it felt.

Built with some of my favorite components like:

Campagnolo 11-speed group

Deda Newton Shallow handlebar

Specialized S-works Toupe saddle

Specialized Turbo tubulars

Time Xpresso pedals

Fizik Superlight 2mm bartape

and always tuned with some light parts like Tune U20 QR, Specialized titanium bottle cage and Engage Gavial brakes.

A success includes great friends and a good guide:

A great recovery ride with beautiful views and ferries:

It’s nice sometimes to be a bit classic and think that style more prioritized than performance. Just plain simple like white socks 😀

Vaxholm and Ingarö

vaxholm

Joined a group of fast cyclists this morning and went to Vaxholm. First time on my Tarmac this year and it is as good as I remembered, agile is the word.

Sporting my new kit I won on Strava from Warsaw Cycling too. Like Anders said on a mtb ride once it can be good to have one slower with you too keep the tempo down. Today I survived thanks to Petra and it felt a bit smarter too not to ride too fast as when we came to Gustavsberg on the way back we joined another group. Cafecycling Le Mond guys rode to Ingarö and we joined them too, was good weather so should ride a bit further 😉

Petra took a shortcut back to Le Mond and maybe that was the smartest. Out to Ingarö and then the first 10km went over 40km/h. And then we got headwind :p Rode an extra loop before going back to Gustavsberg and the first fika. After the fika we took the longest road back… Last loop around Skuru wasn’t feeling so good but seemed like the others also was a bit tired 😉

Finally back to Le Mond for some food, watching Gent-Wevelgem for a while and having my last cinnamon roll:

Headwind on the way home so 2 PR and a happy tired Jonas 🙂 Awesome start of the roadbike season and so thankful for all my friends helping me to enjoy life 😀

gravel and ferries with a cap

I hope you understand that the Ironmanthing was a joke. Won’t happen.

But what has happened is that I rode gravel with one of my best friends this saturday 😀 and a group of others:

Awesome trails and great people. Was great until I lost 4 chainringbolts in Lindalen going up a climb. With help from my friend Björn I was on the track again and me, Henrik and Michael ended the ride properly. With a fika at Le Mond:

Today it was time for another ride. Haven’t suited before but today I managed to ride with the Basemilepeople. A bunch of good guys that rode together on Basemile Snowdown in January. Coffeestyle today with Cykelcafé Le Mond clothes and matchy Sako7 socks 😉

Did a ride around Vaxholm and with strong riders it went pretty fast. Faster than my legs liked but fun 😀 Even got a part of #sportgrus (gravel for roadbikes)

The saving after 100km was a nice lunch at Pizzeria Istanbul in Vallentuna before riding one of the nicest roads just north of Stockholm. Skålhamra.

Just Awesome, except my legs. Also got a new cycling cap this weekend, Café du Cycliste to match all of my white Specialized helmets 🙂

Trying to look fast instead of being :p

Riding fast, going by ferries, enjoying the sunshine

Sunny sunday today and is there anything better than enjoying it with 2 good friends riding nice roads? Met up with Emil and Jimmie at bikecafé Le Mond today and headed through city to go to Vaxholm, like around Lidingö 😉

Stopped at a café at Siggesta Gård and got some fika too

Awesome ride that felt better than I thought after the ride yesterday and as it was my 6th day in a row of training. No training tomorrow, just commuting 🙂

Now I hope you’ve cycled today or watched the XCO World Cup. Otherwise there should be replays of it available now 🙂
