1st training with Skoda Cycling Team

Time flew and the Sunday went to fast to get some blogtime so here is about yesterday when I met up with some Skoda cyclists att SCS for a nice 4-5h ride south. Daniel was with us as guide and photographer:

Not super fast but a great pace out from Stockholm. When we came to Dalarövägen we started the first team time trail part and wasn’t so controlled, specially not after passing a small group up after turning towards Årsta Havsbad. Super hard and I dropped first…

Not what I wanted and got paced by the teamcar, with Fredrik who was the next one to drop.

Back together and easy pace again to Fors where I was taking the picture of Daniel:

Got a bit easier and with a great start the next intervall worked really good. Found the flow 🙂

It felt all very well organized with a good flow until Damian started to attack… 😉 Showing we love cycling and like to ride faster it got a bit faster than planned some times I think but just fun. Like when Karl attacked on a climb showing that the biggest guy isn’t just strong but can fly up hills too 😉

Then we came to Rosenhill. A place you have to stop and can’t just pass according to my boss Patrik, and so we did for a ”short” coffee. A regular cyclist fika so to speak:

Great with a stop when riding a lot and not so far left home. Last intervall became one at Påla Malm where it just started without anyone saying anything

It became hard and I thought a couple of times that I had to skip a turn and rest a bit as Cecilia did. Was just 5 of us going around the hole time there as Fredrik rested a bit in the end too and the resting time before going forward again got pretty short. 38,8km/h average and 171 in heart rate. Great training and happy to have been able to go around all the way 🙂

A ride that started negative with the first intervall ended with good feeling 🙂 Sunday Funday so to speak

And with the luxury of our own team car following us with everything needed. Driven by Pelle:

Thanks everyone for killing my legs and making my confidence grow a bit without being too serious 🙂

I rode like this on Saturday morning.

And this Sunday morning 😉

Yesterday me and Emil started the day with enjoying the sunshine to Vissvass and back before everyone else woke up. A nice ride with just a couple of sprints.

Today I rode with Stefan, Claes and Jens from Järna. Down to Nyköping (almost) in awesome tailwind and then back up to Gnesta in not so awesome headwind

Happily we god some nice views so the headwind wasn’t so hard. The road to Sjundaskogen after Gnesta is really beautiful and so nice to ride it on my Tarmac compared to my Sequoia with 42mm studded tires in cold weather which I had last time

Think the ride me and Emil did yesterday got results today. Emil won the Mälarcup race in Västerås in Men30 almost as cool as Fernando Gaviria won the Giro stage 🙂

Le Peloton #148

You know spring when everyone brings their racebikes with high profile wheels and best clothes to training? When everyone is high on going fast outside and showing how well they trained all winter? That was like todays Le Peloton:

A lot of people, a lot of fast people and a lot of people able to hang on the fast people. And it was this guy a.k.a me:

Looking fast, trying to take my turns and sit in a good position. Unfortunately I’m not as fast as I hoped and after doing a hard start including a PR before the real start and got dropped pretty quick…

Turned around and tried to get the cramp out of my left leg and got caught again at Järla. Sat pretty high and took a turn before Sickla. Then I tried to keep up with the fast ones averaging over 40km/h to Älta. On the hard Evalundsvägen through Älta I always think it goes fast and today I touched my PR, not the best way before Storkällan and I got dropped for the 2nd time…

Had to ride the rest alone and wasn’t as fast as I dreamt about. To be honest I hoped for more and when I came to Le Mond I wasn’t as satisfied as many others. Next time I will push harder, go faster and not get dropped! I want to fight as good as my friend Emil is able to do, or Sagan that doesn’t seem to be able to give up.

Drentse 8 van Westerveld

While I felt like a pro this weekend you can watch the pro’s here 🙂 Been testing me today at Aktivitus and I was right about some things and wrong about some, really interesting and thankful for Skoda Cycling Team supporting me 🙂 More on that when I get the results I forgot.

Until then you have to watch the women race from earlier today. Great racing but still no win for Annemiek van Vleuten 😦

Skoda Cycling Team gathering

Today it all started. Met the team at Bosön and got some cool clothes and equipment. Got to listen to some smart people like Mattias Reck:

And got to know some cool people. 15 ambassadors and 15 ”random” cyclists that all should ride together around Swedens 2nd biggest lake in less than 8h. I am really liking the pro style of it all. Like the Sport director of Joker-Icopal, Gino, just takes for granted that everyone will do their part proper. Like a leader should. And Skoda gives us the right conditions for it 🙂

How I looked last year on Vättern:

How I will look this year with helmet and glasses from POC and Skoda design on the Verge clothes instead of She Rides:

Of course with matching laces for my socks 😀

It will be awesome 😀

Got into a cyclingteam!

People think I can ride faster than I do. And they been trying to get me into a group of fast riders to ride fast around Vätternrundan which I said I don’t want to do again.

In a weak moment I sent an application to Skoda. Heard from many it was a great experience and thought for myself if I would ride around Vättern again I would do it with a pretty fast and pro riding team, don’t want a mess and don’t want to ride too fast like 7h20min.

Skoda Cycling Team is doing it in 8h and with super support. No matter results this is a way for me getting faster and having fun at the same time. Really happy for this spot (even if I may not show it) 🙂

Got a package from them today and next weekend we’re meeting and testing . Looking forward.
