Le Peloton #118

dsc_1758

There is something special with these autumn Pelotons when the weather starts to be bad and rain is more expected all days. Days when all 15 riders are ready for the CX-loop, people on different levels but all with the same goal (breakfast).

When you meet Niklas, Christian and Michael who rode together with me last year. Was a small grupetto chasing Per or Jonas or whoever who was in front and it was hard fun. This year it’s a bit different but we are still riding. Michael is super fast, Niklas is fast sometimes like today and Christian seems to becoming faster too.

I got dropped in the first climb by some and afterwards it felt like Christian flew by me. But he rode a little wrong in a corner and then we rode ”together” with him sitting on my wheel a bit and I’m chasing him a bit. No real drafting as you go as hard as you can and it can differ depending on places on the course.

Until we came to the Longest Climb on the way back and we hear a bad sound on the top. Christians derailleur hanger broke… I continued alone and passed 6(!) riders before I came back to Sickla. It felt better and better all the way which was good as the beginning felt crap.

Christian with a funny t-shirt as he was the only one who didn’t make it:

and my bike, the bike that will make me faster than ever before. The bike that I aim to take on adventures including Emile’s shortcuts and make my second home:

Map and stats: Strava

1min35seconds slower today than last year at this time, then with 2,6kg lighter bike…

Go light, go aero, go Streamer

AX-Lightness. They have come with 31,8mm handlebars for mtb and they are keeping with following the fashion so we can both have light and aero from them. New wheels, 55mm aerorims that look pretty wide. AX-Lightness Streamer. On their bike at 4,9kg:

A bit lower seat, lower headtube and Campagnolo and it would be awesome 😉

The Ridley and a BMC

Starting with a teaser from wrong side. The picture from right side wasn’t that good but here it is:

6,2kg with a little bit to big tires. And dreaming of Campagnolo Record bottle cages, anyone know where to get them for a descent price? Will change pedals, probably stem for a 10mm shorter and then dreaming of a pair of perfect fitting wheels but we’ll see about that.

Saw this lovely BMC today on Weightweenies that I have to show you. Best paintscheme ever made by BMC:

Ready to ride

Glued a couple of old Tufotires on my road bike yesterday to use it this weekend. 20g of glue fixed it (one pre glued rim and pre glued tires). Adjusted the gears and brakes a little today and will test it tomorrow to work and then a ride after work. 😀 So excited on how it is. Lightest road bike I’ve tried as the Evo Ultimate I have tried at work had heavy normal flat pedals. My bike:

Really bad picture with my phone in bad light, hard to get good light when you work until 20.00. So weight:

5663g

Will hang it on a scale at work tomorrow and photo it for you to prove it.

And ending with the funniest part thinking of the weight and that it is a alu frame. I got a Sram Rival front deraileur, not so light 😉

Better gearing than the old Red, same as Force but better priced and fitting black colour.
